“My flute broke in half,” Sarah sobbed.
“Oh Dear!” said Gramma, “Bring me my glasses sweetie. Also the magic-wand from the kitchen.”
Gramma waved the wand. Out came 25 rabbits and 5 koalas.
“Dear me! Where’s Grampa? He’s muddled up the spells again. Gerry??”
“Yes Harriett, you said something?” Gerald removed his headphones, One Direction “What makes you beautiful” could be heard.
“The flute’s broken. Wand’s not working.”
“No worries dear, I’ll fix both,” said Grampa.
Gramma watered the plants. Grampa went back to the Top 100 Countdown, Sarah practiced for her audition.

Great story. Very fun read. Can I ask, what about the photo prompted you to write this? Just curious…

I isolated the ‘silo’ from the rest of the picture. Then thought what does it look like? To me, it did look like one half of a broken flute. Then the story simply came together 🙂

They are such adorable characters. I love the matter-of-factness with which magic and every-day chores are thrown together. What a fun story.
